I’m the correspondent on CTV’s The Social, where my colleagues and I have won two Canadian Screen Awards for hosting this national daytime show.

Previously, I was a national columnist at Metro and an assistant editor covering arts and culture at Maclean’s magazine, where I was nominated for a National Magazine Award for my TIFF coverage. I’ve since gone on to host that very award show, along with a range of other events in the charity, literary, film, and design worlds.

The variety of my work has led me to bake pies for Kyle MacLachlan, reveal fake tattoos to Ryan Reynolds, and interview everyone from Trevor Noah and Greta Gerwig to an archaeologist who recreates ancient beers and an award-winning translator of The Iliad.

I also appeared alongside Emma Hunter in the short film This Is Not About Swimming, written and directed by Marnie Van Dyk, which screened at TIFF in 2023. That same year, I made a guest appearance on Murdoch Mysteries. Earlier roles include playing Tiny Tim in a local theatre production of A Christmas Carol at age 10—and, despite being unable to sing, landing the role of Dorothy in my grade school’s production of The Wizard of Oz at 12.

I hold a BA in Classics and Art History from McMaster University and an MA in Art History from the University of Toronto. After grad school, I spent a year in Florence as a teaching assistant in art history, followed by a decade at the beloved Toronto restaurant Terroni. That’s where my passion for writing about food and travel took hold, eventually leading to my blog, Foodie and the Beast.

Born and raised in St. Thomas, Ontario, I now live in Hamilton with my partner of 20 years, screenwriter Simon Gadke. We’ve recently adopted an 11-year-old cat named Thomas Bernhard II.

I’m represented by literary agent Martha Webb.
